What is a Terminal

The Terminal is the powerhouse of any computer. The Terminal is known by various names depending on the operating system as an example Mac users call it Command Line.

What is the Terminal used for?

  • The Command Line or Terminal is used to create new folders and files.
  • The Command Line is used to access files faster without the need to use a mouse.
  • The Command Line can be used to run programmes which normally cannot be run without access it.
  • The Command Line is used to access certain areas of the computer which cannot be accessed when one is not using it.
